Are you a smoker? Try to quit completely. Even though many people who smoke will tell you that smoking helps them relax, studies have shown there is no relation between smoking and relieving panic attacks. Plus, your body benefits immensely too!

Proper rest is vital to keeping our minds and bodies healthy. Everyone is different as far as how much sleep they need. However, it is recommended for most to get 7-9 hours of sleep a night in order to refresh our minds and bodies. If you are exhausted, everything else in your life is affected, so make sure to allow time for sleep, no matter what projects need to be completed.

Other natural methods to consider would be aromatherapy and decaffeinated chamomile tea before bed. A daily intake of vitamins such as vitamin B, magnesium and calcium has been shown to calm the nervous system and help to cure panic attacks. This period of time is called ‘panic attacks’ and can survive somewhere between a couple of minutes to quite a few hours.”

Careful observation can help prevent panic attacks in children. Studying the causes that trigger a panic attack in a child will go a long way in preventing further attacks. Was it a certain situation that triggered the attack? A certain food perhaps? Knowing the root cause of the problem is the first step. Other safe methods to treat panic attacks in children are:

1. GAD- General Anxiety Disorder in children occurs when the child feels anxiety about upcoming events, friends, family or any other event. The most effective techniques is this situation would be relaxation techniques like breathing and in some cases therapy.

2. Separation anxiety disorder (SAD) in children occurs when the child has to physically leave his/her parent/s. For example, if off to boarding school, first day of school etc.

6. Pounding heart or chest pain – During the entire course of a panic attack it is common to feel like your heart is about to pop out of your chest. Chest pain is also a common symptom associated with panic attacks.

7. Breathing difficultly – Finding it hard to breathe is a common symptom of a panic attacks. This can also come in the form of your chest tightening up.

Trying to get on with life when you have been diagnosed with Panic disorder is hard. Thankfully overcoming panic attacks is not the impossible mission it once was.

Howdy, I was online doing a bit of research about Panic Attacks on Youtube and came across this excellent video. The video has some awesome advice on “how to overcome panic attacks“. His voice is really calm and his delivery just makes you feel nice and calm.  Some of the main points on how to overcome panic attacsk are:

1. Your mental state

  • Keep calm when having a panic attack.
  • Let yourself know its normal.
  • Dont try to control it.
  • Dont fight it off.
  • Remind yourself that Its okay to have one.
  • Panic attacks are normal.
  • Don’t punish yourself for having one.
  • Don’t belittle yourself.
  • Try to understand the triggers for the attacks.
  • Remind yourself that your NOT going to die.

2. Your Physical being

  • Stick to a healthy diet.
  • Reduce your caffeine intake.
  • Reduce your sugar intake.
  • Try to drink camomile tea.
  • Try to eat more vegetables.
  • Drugs such as LSD, Speed, MDMA can trigger panic attacks.

3. Exercise more Frequently

  • Join a gym.
  • Start running.
  • Go for regular walks.
  • Take the dog out for more walks.
  • Take up a sport like tennis or football.

4. Get Plenty of Rest

  • Make sure you get plenty of sleep.
  • Yoga.
  • Try some new relaxation techniques
  • Meditation.

So yeah,  check out the video. I think you’ll agree that its great quality through and through and If keep on suffering from panic attacks make sure you consult with your doctor. I don’t generally recommend medication to overcome panic attacks but you know what? For some people drugs like Xanax etc are the only cure. However, I believe if you keep your wits about you, look after your health and get plenty of rest and relaxation you’ll be on your way to having less or curing your panic attacks for good.

Who would of thought so? Certainly not me! Well not 2 months ago anyway!
I’ve suffered from panic attacks most of my life, on or off and had only heard of “Sleep Panic Attacks” before through some friends of mine but to be honest, I never thought it would happen to me. I mean, I only get panic attacks every now and again. What the hell was going on?

Let me get you up to date with my story friend.

I’d had a hard day. Crappy day at work. Lousy night spent fighting with the girlfriend over what ended up being nothing at all! Anyways, you know where I’m going with that story so when bedtime rang its bell I was more than happy to hit the sack. To tell you the truth I was looking forward to a good nights rest.
What happened next was CRAZY and totally UNEXPECTED!

I awoke gasping for air, frightened and groping around in the dark FREAKING OUT! I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t see and I wasn’t able to cry out for help. I was drenched in sweat and I swear that my heart was trying to burst out of my chest! I was in my own personal nightmare! What the hell was going on! Eventually I just passed out because honestly, my body just wasn’t able to cope with it all. You know what I mean?

Morning came to me which seemed like a surprise after the ordeal I had just went through. I guess I was not really expecting to come out of it all alive! But what on Earth had I just experienced?
Was it just some crazy NIGHTMARE? Was I going insane? Was I having a heart attack?
No!
The answer my friend was a sleep panic attack.
The next day I did some digging around online to find out all about these “sleep panic attacks” and I found some useful information that I thought I should share with you.
1. Sleep Panic Attacks are NOT brought about by bad dreams/nightmares. They are generally brought on by some stressful event earlier on in the day. (Like fighting with my girlfriend/work)
2. Sleep Panic Attacks make up for about 10% of all panic attacks.
3. You can help reduce the likely hood of panic attacks by having a healthy attitude towards diet, exercise, meditation, yoga and in some cases medicine can work as well.

Close your eyes and until your anxiety and panic passes, imagine that you are in that time and place and stay there until the anxious feeling goes away completely. These are the most natural and safest ways to help deal with panic attacks.

Just remember to think positive thoughts, relax, and most importantly, to breath. Doing these things may help in determining what causes your panic attacks and aid in trying to avoid these situations in the future. Panic attacks will never be enjoyable, but with the help of these simple steps they can be more tolerable.
